Young Zif Fellows meet in CITEC research building

Members of the junior research network Young ZiF held their meeting in the CITEC research building on Friday, 24 January 2014. Run by the Center for Interdisciplinary Research (ZiF), Bielefeld University, the Young ZiF network is a programme to support international postdoctoral researchers from all disciplines.

Professor Dr. Helge Ritter, coordinator of the Cluster of Excellence CITEC, gave a presentation about the tasks and aims of the research institution.

 The visitors were taken on guided tours and introduced to the CITEC Central Lab Facilities, MediaLab and Tactile Lab. They were also shown around the Humanoids Lab where research is conducted with roboters iCub and Nao. In addition, they explored the CITEC Laboratory Apartment. This intelligent apartment, consisting of kitchen, living room, bathroom and gym is designed to support people in their everyday lives.

A discussion on equal opportunities during the postdoctoral phase was also on the agenda.
