CITEC presenting at company H&H’s exhibition booth
Floka, the robot head from the Cluster of Excellence CITEC, will be on display at the Formnext Trade Fair in Frankfurt from 13–16 November. Formnext is a trade fair for additive manufacturing technologies and 3-D printing as well as tooling and molding. CITEC will be presenting at the exhibition booth of H&H, a company that develops and builds prototypes. The Floka robot head provides an example of how 3-D printing can be used in robotics research. Floka is a social robot head with eyes, eyebrows, a mouth, and an overall cartoonish appearance. Parts of the robot head were manufactured with 3-D printing by H&H. At the Formnext trade fair, CITEC researchers will demonstrate how Floka can follow an object with its eyes and perform different facial expressions on command.
H&H’s exhibition stand, with CITEC as a partner, will be located in Hall 3.1, Booth 3.1-C30.
Formnext is an international industry trade fair for additive manufacturing technologies as well as their upstream and downstream processes. More than 400 exhibitioners from Germany and abroad will be presenting their products and services, showing how the process chain unfolds from an idea for a product all the way through to the production of it. More than 20,000 visitors are expected to visit the trade fair.
