Guest editorial for the IEEE Journal on Emerging and Selected Topics in Circuits and Systems (JETCAS)

The Neuromorphic Behaving Systems Group is proud to announce that Elisabetta Chicca was co-author for the guest editorial of the recently published special issue of the IEEE Journal on Emerging and Selected Topics in Circuits and Systems (JETCAS) on "Low-Power, Adaptive Neuromorphic Systems - Recent Progress and Future Directions".

This special issue combines academic and industrial research working towards identification of technical challenges and their recent results in the field of neuromorphic circuits and systems for real-time learning systems, particularly with adaptive and low-power attributes.

The guest editorial "Low-Power, Adaptive Neuromorphic Systems: Devices, Circuit, Architectures and Algorithms" describes the importance of low-power neuromorphic systems for embedded intelligence and their recent use for deep neural networks. In the 11 papers of this special issue highlights and reviews the use of neuromorphic systems for the training and adaptation of deep neural networks to real-time inputs. This provides an overview of the field and its recent advancements.
