Abstract:
Within the context of the CRC 673 ‘Alignment in Communication’, Alexander Neumann aims to apply novel Augmented-Reality (AR)-based interception and manipulation methods to record and influence interlocutors’ multimodal perceptions in dyadic conversations and also evaluates the value of AR as a (communication) research tool in general. Based on data gathered during experimental studies, he empirically investigates the interplay of alignment and joint attention by using quantitative methods (data mining) in cooperation with qualitative approaches from Conversation Analysis supplied by project team members.
