Interactive Spatial Sound


Ambisonics and B-format recording allow spatial sound to be recorded and represent using the speaker rings system. In this research line, we make use of the ambisonics system with an audio ring located in the ambient intelligence laboratory and inject interactivity into the spatial audio system. Thus, the spatial positions of sound sources can be controlled by other information such as human body movement and hologram positions. This project combines augmented reality technology with spatial sound to create tightly coupled audiovisual experience of augmented reality. Such system can be used into applications such as AR gaming, human body movement analysis and spatial hearing exercise.
