Disfluencies such as repetitions, hesitations, reformulations, false starts and filled pauses are not only pervasive in human conversational speech but also facilitate understanding in a variety of ways. My research objectives center around the generation of disfluencies in incremental Spoken Dialogue Systems with a view to rendering SDSs clearer, more natural and better able to react to changes in the environment and interruptions.
