PhD students from a broad range of disciplines are invited to participate in the 2010 CITEC Summer School. We intend to bring together young researchers from many diverse fields such as psychology, cognitive science, robotics, computer science, neurobiology and linguistics, who share an interest in the over-arching topic of motion and cognition.

The summer school will comprise of small-group workshops on practical, experimental and theoretical topics, plenary lectures held by the invited speakers, as well as discussion groups, evening lectures and an activities program. We hope to offer a rich curriculum which will promote discussion across the boundaries of different branches of science.

Successful candidates will be notified of their acceptance after the application deadline. Once you have been selected, we will ask you for a registration fee (option a) registration and accommodation in single room, full board € 490; option b) registration and accommodation in double room, full board € 450; option c) registration without accommodation, but lunch and dinner included € 350). You will be asked to bring a poster representing your resarch, which will help us and the other participants to get to know you.

The workshops will involve working intensively in small groups. To help us best tailor the program to your interests, please upload a short curriculum vitae and a  one-page letter of application describing a) your research interests, b) what relevant skills you have, and c) your reason for applying, including a short explanation on how the summer school could help you in your research. We also require a letter of recommendation from an established academic in your field. Please upload all files as PDF documents.

We will decide on participation based on these documents. In addition, since there will be four different parallel streams for the workshops, we would like you to select your preference and an alternative choice of the stream you would like to participate in.
