Real-Time Physics Simulations |
In this project we investigate real-time dynamic simulations of elastically deformable models. We will extend the finite element method (FEM) to allow for more flexible and adaptive discretizations of 3D models, which in turn will lead to more efficient simulations. Furthermore, we will exploit the computational power provided by modern multi-core and many-core architectures and by this speed up the numerical methods involved in the simulation process. The resulting system will eventually enable the real-time interaction with virtual objects that behave in a physically believable and intuitive manner.
