Reconciliation of work and family life

In order to support a better reconciliation of scientific work and family life, CITEC offers the following measures:

Support of return after maternity or parental leave
Scientists returning from their maternity or parental leave will receive support in the form of a student or scientific assistant for their re-entry on application. By default, this assistant will be financed for a period of three months with a volume of 10 hours per week. This period can be prolonged on application.

Promotion of mobility
Scientists can apply for travel, accommodation and babysitting expeneses for accompanying children and a supervising person to support scientific mobility (e.g. participation in conferences).

Children's office
The children's office in the CITEC building Q of the university offers practical support to all CITEC members and their guests to enable them to balance parenthood and their scientific activities:
The children's office (age group 0 to 15 years) is fitted out for children and can be used for short-term child care. In addition to this, it is a flexible and internet-connected workplace for supervising parents.
